Bears and Gatherings
Just wanted to let you know I've been in touch with the District Ranger at Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest and the bears are getting into things we have left buried behind. Montana Fish & Wildlife have been informed.
This is not a good situation as bears who become habituated to humans stuff usually end up as dead bears.
Not sure what we could do to prevent this in the future, but this is a big issue and will get bigger in the coming years so I thought we should start brain storming sooner rather than later.

Hello Rainbow Family,
ReplyDeleteI am a freshman at the University of Montana, and I am actually writing an essay on the Gathering that just occurred in Montana over the 4th of July weekend. I want to represent you all well and do the Gathering justice, so I was wondering if any of you would like to tell me your first hand experiences if you attended ANY of the Gatherings that have happened in Montana so I could cite you as sources in my essay. I would love to hear stories on what you think the Gathering means, why was the Gathering in Montana, how the Gathering/Family impacted Montana in ways concerning the land, the resources, and the community, and maybe how the people still are impacting it! Anything would be helpful ( i would love to hear all the good and all the bad, I would greatly appreciate anything you have to share!) Feel free to email me at lskye@ymail.com
Thank you all!!
